Prayers of the Faithful
26 th Sunday of Ordinary Time
September 26-27, 2020
As we celebrate the feast of St. Vincent, we pray for our parish. May our life and ministries reflect his love for the poor and his devotion to justice.
We are called by Pope Francis to live in gratitude and respect for the gifts of
nature. As individuals and as a nation may we become more aware of how we live, what we use, and how it affects our environment.
We pray for an awareness of and willingness to address systemic racism in our government, economy, housing, and health care. May we be steadfast in working toward equality and equity for all.
We pray that in these turbulent times, when a pandemic continues to take lives, and an election further divides our nation, may the wisdom of the Holy Spirit guide and protect us.
We mourn the loss of Ruth Bader Ginsberg. May her pioneering work in human rights continue to inspire us and all those in the legal profession.
We pray for all who are suffering greatly during this time: families whose lives are disrupted, the elderly and all who are isolated, the critically ill, and those who are mourning the loss of loved ones. May they be aware of Your presence and love.
