General Intercessions
Fifth Sunday of Lent ~ March 20-21, 2021
If there is no sung response, lector adds “We pray . . .”
Give your Church a clean heart, O God.
May all who are blessed to preach and teach your Word
know you intimately and serve you faithfully.
Write your law upon the hearts of our politicians and legislators.
Inspire them to do justice for those who bear the weight
of generational poverty, systemic racism, and other social sins.
In this year of Saint Joseph, bless all artisans and laborers,
migrants and dreamers, fathers by birth and by loving adoption.
Through his intercession, may every vulnerable soul find protection.
Draw close to those who are suffering from COVID,
cancer, dementia, or any other affliction.
Purify their hearts with the fire of your love.
Bless those you have gathered home to you.
Like grains of wheat fallen to the ground,
may their lives continue to bear good fruit
in the hearts of those they loved.
