General Intercessions ~ Third Sunday of Lent
March 19-20, 2022
As Pope Francis begins his tenth year in office,
let us pray in thanksgiving for the many ways he empowers women.
May he lead the Church along a path of renewal.
As we mark the Feast of St. Joseph this weekend,
let us pray for fathers and foster-fathers, immigrants and refugees, craftsmen and laborers.
May all who seek Joseph’s protection find blessing in their family and their work.
As we journey deeper into Lent,
let us pray for all those being received into the Church this year, especially our own Candidates.
May they stand on holy ground, burning brightly in the faith.
As God used Moses to free the Israelites from slavery,
let us pray for an end to systemic racism.
May see our individual bondage and break our collective chains.
As war and violence continue to afflict our world,
let us pray for those who have lost their lives at the hands of others.
May all who have died—and those who mourn—rest in the arms of our merciful God.
