General Intercessions
January 18-19, 2020 ~ Second Sunday in Ordinary Time
Let us pray for prophetic voices in the church today.
May all who recognize the movement of God’s spirit
share their vision with courage and clarity.
As our nation prepares to honor Dr. Martin Luther King,
may we grow in our ability to speak honestly about race,
and to heal the wounds of racism
through our relationships with one another.
During this Respect Life month,
we lift up those who are most vulnerable.
May we find ways to support unborn children, families in need,
and those who are disabled, elderly, or undocumented.
We lift up those who suffer quiet losses,
such as miscarriage, dementia, depression, or divorce.
May all who grieve in silence know the loving presence of God,
and the compassion of faithful friends.
Let us pray in a special way
for the repose of the soul of Joy Wuenschel,
And for the consolation of her family.
May service with gladness
be Joy’s legacy to the St. Vincent’s community.
